The programme is delivered in association with Chelsea FC and combines top tier football coaching with Wells Cathedral School’s renowned holistic education. A global first, the specialism will run alongside our other two specialisms of Music and Maths.

Pupils on the Football Specialism will benefit from the following:
High Performance Coaching
9 weekly coaching sessions from Chelsea FC UEFA-qualified coaches.
A permanent Head of Football from Chelsea FC based at Wells Cathedral School.
A comprehensive focus on player development, performance conditioning, and long-term athletic care. Customised strength and conditioning, nutritional, and sports psychology support.
Individual Mentoring and Performance reviews with the Head of Football.
Training sessions and visits to Chelsea FC training ground in Cobham.
The opportunity to play at Kingsmeadow Stadium and to visit Stamford Bridge.
